💡 About K-reading to Diopter Conversion
Keratometry readings measure corneal curvature and are converted to diopters using the lensmaker’s formula. This is essential for IOL power calculations, contact lens fitting, and refractive surgery planning.
Formula: D = (n – 1) / R × 1000
Where: D = Diopter power, n = Refractive index, R = Radius of curvature (mm)
Standard Values: n = 1.3375 (keratometric index), R = 337.5 / K-reading
Note: This calculator provides estimates for educational purposes. Clinical decisions should be based on comprehensive ophthalmic examination.
